Any Lakota out there?

I am taking this humanities cl and right now our unit is on religion and spirituality. I chose to do my presentation on sioux beliefs and because I was told to narrow it down I chose the Lakota. I was initially going to do it on mine/Aztec but everyone would have been too distracted with the sacrificing etc and I also felt that the sioux still have many of their traditions intact and untouched by christianity and with Aztec tradition, the majority is mixed. Is there anything else aside from basic knowledge of the "sioux" spirituality I should know about? And also I read that many don't like to be referred to as sioux because it was given by the french to mean serpents in the gr...but i just use it as a general term.
