Why should i get a "Trade" job, when i won't be happen in a job like that?

My Dad & Brother are constantly bugging me about "Why am i wasting time going to University and getting into debt" when i can go get a trade and earn good money. To be honest, just because my brother is a carpenter/handyman etc, doesn't mean i want to follow the same route. He's always talking about me doing plumbing, Electrician etc, but i don't want to do a job like that and to be honest the money isn't important to me as long as i enjoy the job, and i know i wouldn't enjoy a trade job. Don't get me wrong, i have nothing against anyone who wants to do a trade job, but it's just not for me, and personally i think my brother and dad are jealous that i have achieved enough to get into University, so now they are trying to deter me from studying for something i'll enjoy. Do you think it's fair that my dad & brother are haring me about getting a trade job, just so i follow the norm!
