Can cats see ghost and spirits?

I heard a rumor that cats can see ghosts and spirits better than humans and they will mainly stare at one place for minutes and at my house, I've been experiencing several paranormal activities(thats a coincidence for those dorks who will laugh because of an unfortunate word pairing) for example-before i got my cat, i was home alone and i went into the bathroom and i heard a cabinet door from the kitchen slam..another example is visual presentation(wow), and when im asleep, ill awake to hear scuffling feet on the hallway floor and the sound of fingers rubbing across the grate of a propane heater..skeptics need not answer
