Genetics question on color of labradores..?
retriever dogs may be black, brown, or yellow. The inheritance of coat color involves two independently orting genes, B and E. Gene B controls the production of the pigment melanin. The allele B (black) is completely dominant to b (brown). Gene E controls the deposition of pigment in the hair. The dominant allele E allows normal deposition of the pigment, whereas the recessive e allows only a small amount of pigment deposition, producing a yellow coat. What is the expected F2 phenotypic ratio if the parental cross was BBEE x bbee? What type of genetic interaction is observed in this problem?
